Looking back at Hong Kong and Hawaii between 1983 to 2013 that I will consider the prime career years of our RHS (Rosaryhill School HK) Class of 1973. Talking about I am at the wrong place at the wrong time. For those Hongkongers abandoned HK and moved to UK recently and going forward when UK like Hawaii is heading towards sunset since BREXIT. HK will play a key role in China’s Greater Bay Area, expect to overtakes SF Greater Bay Area and Tokyo Greater Bay Area within 5 years. I cannot speak for Tokyo Bay Area. But for SF Bay Area that I spent majority of my time last 14 years, 1,000s of high technology Chinese engineers have left last 3 years back to Asia when most are making equal if not more money than US when you factored in 17% maximum tax verses 50%+ in US with bright future. Some of them I have spoken to are so glad to leave racist America who treated Asians especially Chinese Americans as 2nd or 3rd class citizens, not to mention their families lives constantly at risk by gun violence, COVID19 and legalized illegal drugs.
