The religion of US’s freedom, democracy and human rights.
I have clients, not even Chinese went to the polls every 2 years last 40 years.
I make an effort to ask them when I see them during tax seasons.
I asked have your life improved, same or get worst.
Most answers I got was get worst, followed by same and very few said improved.
US democracy is like going to church. What does people do when things don’t get well, they go to Church to pray. Does praying meant things will change for the better. The answer is 99.9% no. But that gives people hope.
US is using the same religious concept named democracy. If things get bad, go to the polls (church) every 2 years to vote (pray) and things would be better. What a stupid idea, but AngloSaxon world based on Christian faith bought it.
Chinese is much smarter. That is why China rising and AngloSaxon world sinking fast.
Chinese said cut the bullshit on freedom, democracy and human rights, give us food, shelter, education and medicine. Freedom, Democracy and Human Rights meant nothing. But Americans not too smart, they bought into the empty promises until the day they die.
How could US not failed? It is a system designed to benefit the top 1-5%. What about the other 95%, who cares because they will continue to pray, their son and grandkids will do the same when the top 1-5% laughing to the bank everyday.
As expected, Andrew Yang lost! Chinese or Asians have little chance to win in any major US political races in current racist anti-Asians, anti-Chinese political environment except maybe in Hawaii when Asians are majority. But Hawaii has absolutely no influence in National politics for 2 reasons: 1) it is such a small State and a welfare state for decades meant Hawaii received substantially more Federal funds compared to Federal Taxes paid and 2) Hawaii is a one party State for the Democratic Party meant Republican Party will ignore it and Democratic Party will ignore it too because it is a free lunch.
New York Times: In the end, the Yang Gang went bust.
Andrew Yang entered the race for New York mayor in January as the front-runner, but his happy-go-lucky, antipolitical style of campaigning left him unable to hold onto voters’ confidence. As early results came in for the Democratic primary after polls closed yesterday, Yang was on track to finish in a distant fourth place. He’s since conceded.
‘Star team’ of Chinese space scientists gets warm welcome at HK universities. Hong Kong is playing a more important role in China’s space program. 中國太空科學家的“明星團隊”在香港大學受到熱烈歡迎。 香港在中國的太空計劃中扮演著更重要的角色
by Professor Yung Kai-leung’s team includes some 20 researchers with an average age of 30 to 40, and the youngest is only 21 years old. Some of them are still students at PolyU, and the majority are Hong Kong locals.
A national “star team” of scientists from China’s top space projects started its much-anticipated visit to Hong Kong schools on Wednesday. Responding to the warm welcome from young people in the city, scientists encouraged them to participate more in the aerospace effort of the country.
The team, which consists of the commander-in-chiefs and the chief designers of the country’s Long March carrier rocket series, Shenzhou manned space programs, BeiDou Satellite Navigation System and the Tianwen-1 Mars mission, arrived in Hong Kong on Tuesday. They were scheduled to visit the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and six middle schools from Wednesday to Friday.
Experts pointed out that the warmly welcomed visit, especially at PolyU and HKU, which were turned into battlefields by rioters and tormented by violence and vandalism imposed by secessionists in 2019, sent a strong signal that the misunderstanding of the Chinese mainland’s development held by some local intellectuals in Hong Kong is unwinding, and the young generation in the city is full of hope and passion to participate in the country’s science advance.
Qi Faren, the first chief designer of China’s Shenzhou spacecraft, gave a speech emphasizing the theme of China’s aerospace spirit at PolyU on Wednesday, talking about the country’s long path over the past 50 years to advance its aerospace development and achievement.
Hu Hao, the chief designer of the third phase of the lunar exploration program, also said during a speech at HKU on Wednesday that universities in Hong Kong are all highly regarded, and they are welcome to participate in the study of lunar samples.
Qi’s speech was fully booked by students at PolyU, and it was livestreamed on many platforms, said PolyU President Teng Jin-guang. More than 5,000 viewers watched the speech solely through PolyU’s WeChat livestream platform.
A national star team of scientists from China’s top space projects started its much-anticipated visit to Hong Kong schools on Wednesday.
A staff member at PolyU told the Global Times on Wednesday that students engaged in rounds of opinion exchanges at the event with the aerospace giant, and they spoke highly of Qi’s speech.
When hearing that many young Hong Kong people are interested in joining the national aerospace department, Qi pointed out that some of China’s aerospace experts received their education in Hong Kong, and he encouraged interested students to join the country’s aerospace program.
Lam Tai-fai, chairman of the PolyU Council, said in a statement the school sent to the Global Times on Wednesday that the event enables PolyU students to achieve a close understanding of China’s space industry, and it will enhance their enthusiasm and interest in participating in national scientific research.
Professor Yung Kai-leung, who leads a research team at PolyU that developed and manufactured one of the key systems for the Chang’e-5 lunar sample return mission, told the Global Times on Tuesday that his team includes some 20 researchers with an average age of 30 to 40, and the youngest is only 21 years old. Some of them are still students at PolyU, and the majority is Hong Kong locals.
Yung and his research team developed the “Surface Sampling and Packing System,” in collaboration with the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST). The system accomplished the tasks of automatic sample collection and packaging on the lunar surface, following the soft landing of the Chang’e 5 probe on December 1, 2020.
Yung recalled that in mid-November 2019, rioters left PolyU in chaos. A number of laboratories on campus were vandalized and dangerous chemicals were taken from the laboratories that might pose a serious threat of harm to the public.
The implementation of the national security law in Hong Kong has ended the history of Hong Kong’s undefended security system. Many Hong Kong residents have said the people of the city feel more secure and free from harm by rioters and separatists who gang up with foreign forces, and the law is a gift that the motherland presented to the city.
Hong Kong rarely sees such a high-level expert group sent by the mainland, which indicates the high importance the visiting team has attached to the trip, Song Zhongping, a Hong Kong-based space analyst, told the Global Times on Wednesday. “It is a real ‘universe-level’ team,” he said.
The national space scientists’ visit could serve a strong role in unwinding the misunderstanding of the Chinese mainland’s development held by some local intellectuals in Hong Kong, he said.
“Some of the younger generations in Hong Kong believe that in the fields of aerospace and such high-technology industries, China lags behind the West. But through such events, they will understand better that we have in fact caught up, to become one of the heavyweights in the world’s aerospace development,” Song noted.
Professor Yung said that his team will join the future Chang’e-6 mission in a similar quest for lunar samples, and new designs will be added to the old system to meet the new mission’s requirements.
He added that his team would be ready for the country’s call for future lunar missions including the Chang’e-7 and Chang’e-8, as well as Mars sample-retrieval quests and asteroid probe missions.
AMERICAN EMPIRE, COMMENTARY, FOREIGN POLICY, MEDIA, MIDDLE EAST, U.S., WIKILEAKS ‘Rules-Based International Order’ Means Washington-Based International Order June 23, 2021
U.S. officials babble endlessly about “rules” and the “rules” are literally always tools for the benefit of the U.S., which literally always flouts those “rules” worse than any other government on earth, writes Caity Johnstone.
The U.S. government has shut down multiple news media websites based in the Middle East, including Iran’s state-owned Press TV, and al-Masirah TV which is owned by the Houthi group Ansarullah in Yemen. The Department of Justice said on Tuesday it had seized 36 Iranian-linked websites, claiming without evidence that they were associated with “either disinformation activities or violent organizations” and were shut down for a violation of U.S. sanctions.
This would be the same U.S. government that is imprisoning Julian Assange for journalism which exposed U.S. war crimes, the same U.S. government which paid for the weapons used to destroy more than 20 Palestinian media outlets in Gaza last month, the same U.S. government whose unipolar domination of the planet is made possible by the journalism-destroying propaganda of the media-owning plutocratic class in alliance with sociopathic government agencies.
This would also be the same U.S. government which constantly pays lip service to the need to protect the freedom of the press, as part of the “rules-based international order” it purports to uphold in the world.
The Biden administration has been bleating “rules-based order” so frequently and with such obvious meaninglessness that even The New York Times voiced some criticism of the way that vapid, idiotic phrase is being used instead of the well-defined term “international law”. As Medea Benjamin and Nicolas JS Davies wrote for Salon last month:
For Blinken, the concept of a “rules-based order” seems to serve mainly as a cudgel with which to attack China and Russia. At a May 7 UN Security Council meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov suggested that instead of accepting the already existing rules of international law, the United States and its allies are trying to come up with “other rules developed in closed, non-inclusive formats, and then imposed on everyone else.”
…
Today, far from being a leader of the international rules-based system, the United States is an outlier. It has failed to sign or ratify about 50 important and widely accepted multilateral treaties on everything from children’s rights to arms control. Its unilateral sanctions against Cuba, Iran, Venezuela and other countries are themselves violations of international law, and the new Biden administration has shamefully failed to lift these illegal sanctions, ignoring UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ request to suspend such unilateral coercive measures during the pandemic.
Indeed, U.S. government officials babble endlessly about “rules”, and the “rules” are literally always tools used for the benefit of the U.S. government, and the U.S. government literally always flouts those “rules” exponentially worse than any other government on earth.
What the phrase “rules-based order” actually means is Washington-based order. It means a world order imposed by the U.S. government and its lackey states on pain of devastation and death, which exists solely to keep the U.S. at the head of a unipolar empire. It means do as I say, not as I do. It means rules for thee but not for me. It means we decide what happens based on what suits our interests.
If you peel away all the narrative spin and outward politeness, the U.S. empire just looks like any other tyrannical force that has ever existed throughout human history, except it kills a lot more people than most of the others. In the old days the thugs with the most effective killing force would dominate everyone else using terror, wearing frightening battle costumes adorned with the body parts of their enemies. Nowadays they still dominate everyone else using terror, except they do it while wearing suits, and while waxing self-righteously about the “rules-based international order”. And they are much better at killing.
There is no other government on earth that is less qualified to impose any “order” upon the world. This is the only government on earth which has killed millions of people and displaced tens of millions just since the turn of this century, the only government on earth that is circling the planet with hundreds of military bases and working to destroy any nation which disobeys its dictates.
Yemen alone completely delegitimizes any claim the U.S. may have had to be the arbiter of “order” in the world, to say nothing of Iraq, Vietnam, Libya and all the other innumerable atrocities that this monstrous regime has inflicted upon our species.
The sooner humanity can extract the parasite that is the U.S. empire from its skin, the better off the whole world will be.

PLA on alert during US warship’s latest Taiwan Straits provocation by Liu Xuanzun Jun 22 2021
Warships attached to a destroyer flotilla with the navy under the PLA Eastern Theater Command steam in astern formation in waters of the East China Sea during the realistic training on April 23, 2021.
The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command tracked and monitored a US warship as it sailed through the Taiwan Straits with the aim of stirring up trouble in the region on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson said on Wednesday.
As its only aircraft carrier based in the Asia-Pacific region leaves for the Middle East, the US is trying to register its presence as it attempts to fill the void and contain China, analysts said.
The PLA Eastern Theater Command organized maritime and aerial forces, tracked and monitored on high alert the USS Curtis Wilbur guided missile destroyer through its entire course when it made a transit in the Taiwan Straits on Tuesday, said Senior Colonel Zhang Chunhui, spokesperson of the Command, in a statement released on Wednesday.
This is the sixth time a US warship has sailed through the Taiwan Straits since Joe Biden assumed US presidential office on January 20, media on the island of Taiwan said. The last time the USS Curtis Wilbur sailed through the Straits was on May 18, a move that was also closely monitored by the PLA Eastern Theater Command.
Zhang said the US is again playing the old trick and stirring up trouble in the Taiwan Straits and intentionally sabotaging regional security, threatening the peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits. It clearly shows that the US is the biggest security risk maker in the region. “We are resolutely against this.”
The provocations from US warships along the Taiwan Straits are aimed at creating trouble between the Chinese mainland and the island of Taiwan, in order to lend support to Taiwan secessionists, Wei Dongxu, a Beijing-based military expert, told the Global Times.
Chinese mainland military observers also noted that each time a US warship sailed through the Taiwan Straits, the PLA monitored and tracked its movement with warplanes and warships, showing that the PLA has complete control over the region.
While the US 7th Fleet said in a statement on Tuesday that the latest Taiwan Straits transit by the USS Curtis Wilbur was routine, it could be an attempt to make up for the current situation of the lack of a US aircraft carrier in the Asia-Pacific region, analysts said.
The USS Ronald Reagan, the only US aircraft carrier based in the Asia-Pacific, left the South China Sea on Friday on a mission to evacuate US troops from Afghanistan, according to the monitoring of the South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative (SCSPI), a Beijing-based think tank.
Before the US military sends another carrier to the region, it would want to use its other vessels and aircraft to register its presence as it tries to fill the void left by the USS Ronald Reagan, a Chinese mainland expert who requested anonymity told the Global Times on Wednesday.
Increased US warship activities and warplane close-in reconnaissance operations near China should be expected, the expert predicted.
Last time, after the USS Curtis Wilbur sailed through the Straits on May 18, it went on and intruded Chinese territorial waters in the South China Sea two days later, and was driven away by the PLA.
The troops of the PLA Eastern Theater Command are on high alert all the time, so as to deal with all threats and provocations at any time and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, Zhang said.
5G-equivalanet network speeds in space empower taikonaut’s unimpeded video call with ground by Global Times Jun 22 2021
The three taikonauts aboard China’s Tianhe space station core module some 400 kilometers above the Earth received the first video call from Chinese President Xi Jinping at the control center in Beijing on Wednesday morning, impressing many with the high-resolution images, loud-and-clear voices, and a ground-space connection with almost zero time delay. What empowered such a smooth connection?
A “space network” composed of three homegrown Tianlian satellites guaranteed the unimpeded communication between the ground and space, according to China Space News, the newspaper co-hosted by two state-owned space giants, the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation.
Tianlian satellites are China’s data tracking and relay communication satellites that fly in geostationary orbit. They are mainly tasked to provide data relay, measurements and control, and transmission services for the in-orbit spacecraft on a global scale.
The downlink rate of the station’s network is 1.2G, which is equivalent to the ground’s 5G communication speed. Its time delay is within merely one second, the system developer told CCTV News.
Yi Yusheng, chief designer of the space station’s measurement, control and communication subsystem at the China Academy of Space Technology, introduced that the taikonauts could hold video calls, receive e-mails, and even watch online TV programs via the station’s telecommunication network during their three-month stay.
“They can also have private phone calls with their families using a special telephone, which will not be heard by any of the ground control staff,” Yi said.
Jing Zheng, deputy commander in chief of the space station, further added that the Wi-Fi in space feels the same as the ground, supporting taikonauts’ daily communications on WeChat and video calls.
Over 10 cable and wireless network cameras, Bluetooth headsets, mobile phones, PADs, and laptops had been brought to the Tianhe core cabin to guarantee its connection with the ground through various means.
These terminals will upload the images and voice messages to the space station’s Ethernet switcher, which will then transmit the data to the ground via a high-speed relay antenna.
A major breakthrough has been made for the relay antenna in that the updated version could be repaired and maintained, with the aim of extending its lifespan to support the space station’s operation needs for 15 years, a system developer said.
Yi added that the ground-space connection will not be interfered with, as the three Tianlian satellites and the space station’s relay antenna could achieve a coverage rate of more than 90 percent, meaning that the telecommunications signals can reach the craft for over 90 percent of its time in orbit. Once the two other laboratory modules are docked with the core cabin and the three-module complex is formed, there will be another two relay antennas that will realize a 100 percent coverage rate of ground-space connection.
