How many more democracy US want to overthrow? After a decade-long torment from terrorist mercenaries deployed covertly by the Western powers, as well as overt aggression from NATO military forces illegally attacking the country and from cruel economic sanctions warfare, the people of Syria remain defiant and independent.
President Bashar al-Assad was re-elected for a fourth seven-year term after winning 95 percent of votes cast. The achievement is stunning. It completely refutes – indeed makes a mockery of – the Western narrative depicting Assad as a “tyrant”.
Despite all the grueling hardships, the Syrian people turned out in droves to vote on Thursday. The turnout was over 78 percent with more than 14 million votes cast out of an eligible 18 million electorate.
There is no way the Western governments and their servile corporate media can spin this epic demonstration of popular defiance to their nefarious intrigues for regime change in Syria. Hence, the total silence among Western media about the election result. That silence is at once hilarious and damning of Western guilt over the real nature of the war in Syria. It was always a foreign war of criminal aggression. If there was any justice prevailing in this world, Western politicians by the dozens should be tried for war crimes.
Before the election this week, the United States, Britain, France, and other NATO powers tried to smear the Syrian democratic will, labeling the ballot as neither fair nor free.
Well, the sheer numbers of people turning out to vote and the subsequent scenes of jubilation across Syria tell another story, one that confounds the Western propaganda and exposes the criminality of the NATO powers and their toxic media.
The Syrian nation has refused to bow after years of NATO-backed terrorism in their country. They have chosen their president – again.
The same kind of shameful silence in Western media has been seen numerous times before when the Syrian army liberated towns and villages from Western-backed terrorists. When people came out to greet their Syrian army liberators, the Western media simply ignored the reality despite having told their consumers beforehand that the Syrian army and their Russian allies were committing slaughter against “rebels” and civilian populations.
Not one Western mainstream media outlet has followed up to report on how Syrians feel about being liberated and of having their peaceful lives restored. That’s because Syrians would praise the leadership of Assad, the courage of the army, and the crucial help of Russia, Iran and Hezbollah. In other words, the West’s lies would be demolished by the truth, and so their media are compelled to ignore and keep silent.
For everyone around the world who desires justice and peace and the defeat of imperialism, the victory from Syria’s election is a glorious day to celebrate. Congratulations are due to President Assad. But more so to the people of Syria who showed that it is possible to stand up to the real tyranny, that of the United States and its lawless NATO rogue allies who wanted to destroy Syria in order to install their own puppet regime. Despite unspeakable barbarities inflicted on the peace-loving people of Syria, they have remained steadfast in their unity and determination for independence, regardless of their different religions. The NATO ploy of trying to incite a sectarian war among Syrians failed because they knew all along who their real enemy was. For those willing to see reality, Syria exposes the forces of evil in this world. The Western lying media tell us that Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, and so on, are “bad” and are threatening global peace. The Americans and their NATO partners lecture and pontificate about “rules and order”. When it is they who are caught in the headlights of truth: they tried to destroy a country just like they have countless others. But that country – Syria – just showed its spectacular strength to overcome the evil designs of the United States and its minions in NATO.
Lamentably, Syria faces more trials and challenges from the continuing economic warfare being waged by US and European sanctions. Reconstruction from a decade of NATO aggression will not be easy. But with the help of Russia, China, Iran, and others, the Syrian people will win finally. They have just shown their invincible resilience beyond any doubt.

Sinovac vaccine 2nd Chinese dose greenlighted by WHO, ‘more to follow’ by Leng Shumei and Hu Yuwei Jun 01 2021

As the US keeps making promises without actual moves and India, a previous major global vaccine manufacturer, is struggling to fulfill their production contracts amid the serious domestic COVID-19 epidemic, China is taking the leading role to support the global anti-pandemic fight in expanding international supply as much as possible, providing reliable doses with impressive protection data.
The World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday greenlighted COVID-19 vaccine produced by China’s Sinovac for emergency use, which is a prerequisite to become a provider for COVAX.
“Today, I’m happy to announce that the Sinovac-CoronaVac vaccine has been given WHO Emergency Use Listing after being found to be safe, effective and quality assured following two doses of the inactivated vaccine,” WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Furthermore, the easy storage requirements of CoronaVac make it very suitable for low-resource settings. It is now the eighth vaccine to receive Emergency Use Listing by WHO. It’s now crucial to get these lifesaving tools to the people that need them quickly,” Tedros noted.
The decision further demonstrated that China not only has the willingness and the means to help in the global anti-pandemic fight, but the capability to do so, Feng Duojia, president of the China Vaccine Industry Association, told the Global Times on Tuesday.
Also on Tuesday, Chinese state-owned vaccine producer Sinopharm rolled out its first batch of COVID-19 doses prepared for the global vaccine sharing scheme COVAX in Beijing after the vaccine was approved by the WHO on May 7 for emergency use.
Sinopharm has made some improvements on the special batch for COVAX, including applying packaging all in English and designing a sticker called vaccine vial monitors (VVM) that could show temperature variations – Sinopharm is also the world’s first producer that has attached VVM on COVID-19 shots, Zhu Jingjin, vice president of China National Biotec Group (CNBG), a subsidiary of Sinopharm that is responsible for the group’s COVID-19 vaccine research and production, said at a ceremony to mark the first COVAX shots from China on Tuesday.
QR codes are on the outer packaging for international monitoring and supervision, and the company has improved the instruction information, according to Zhu.
China has promised to provide the COVAX scheme with 10 million shots of COVID-19 vaccines. Chinese companies are putting their best efforts into ensuring the delivery, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a routine press conference on Tuesday.
“China will continue to support related companies in enhancing communication and coordination with the COVAX program and make China’s contributions to securing an early victory in the global fight against the epidemic,” Wang noted.
Leading supplier
China had supplied a cumulative 300 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines overseas by mid-May, contributing to vaccine accessibility and affordability, especially in developing countries.
Sinovac, a major Chinese provider in the overseas market, has supplied 600 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines overall across 46 countries and regions including the domestic market upon regulators’ approval as of Monday, the company revealed.
The company has distributed about 260 million doses to regions outside China while giving the domestic market about 340 million as of Monday, according to a Global Times calculation based on claims made by Sinovac that overseas supply accounts for three-quarters of its domestic supply so far.
More than 430 million doses of Sinovac’s vaccine have been administered globally, including in China. That is, one in every five doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered globally is from Sinovac, company spokesperson Liu Peicheng said at a press conference on Tuesday.
To date, Sinovac has been inspected by seven international drug regulators from Indonesia, Brazil, Chile, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and the WHO. It has five production bases in China, which can achieve an annual capacity of 2 billion doses, and has issued local production authorization to more than five countries including Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Egypt.
CanSinoBIO, the primary one-dose vaccine producer in China, has distributed more than 10 million doses globally so far, while securing more doses for high-risk areas, the Global Times learnt from CanSinoBIO on Tuesday.
Sinopharm has vaccinated more than 300 million doses globally, including in the Chinese mainland, the company told media at the end of May.
So far two Chinese vaccines have been greenlighted by WHO for emergency use.
Experts noted that in the future, more Chinese producers will obtain WHO approval and join the global anti-epidemic battle to display China’s contribution and responsibility in the battle, which is vital to the world, while the US sits on piles of vaccine stock but turns a blind eye to the struggle, and the world’s major vaccine producer India gets busy tackling its own deadly outbreak.
US President Joe Biden, heeding widespread calls to step up his response to the pandemic’s surge abroad, said on May 17 that his administration would send 20 million doses of federally authorized COVID-19 vaccine overseas in June – the first time he has pledged to give away doses that could be used in the US, the New York Times reported.
That is in addition to the 60 million doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine he pledged last month, though those doses are not approved for domestic use and cannot be released until regulators deem them safe, the report said.
Meanwhile, India’s largest vaccine producer the Serum Institute is struggling to meet domestic demand and says it will not be making doses available for export until the end of the year. The Indian government is aiming to ramp up production to cope with the pandemic, with a pledge to produce at least two billion doses between August and December this year, media reported.
“China is now the world’s largest exporter of vaccines, especially for many developing countries. We are most moved by the fact that, although China has its own mandate to vaccinate 1.4 billion people, it still distributes some of its vaccines to other countries with similar needs,” the ambassador of Ecuador to China, Carlos Humberto Larrea Dávila, told the Global Times on May 26, adding that “China should be an example for the international community.”
Outstanding protection
With more and more places around the world starting to use and trust Chinese shots, the outstanding protection efficacy of the shots in various countries and regions revealed recently has refuted some Western media’s long-existing smearing and doubts over China-made vaccines.
CoronaVac, the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Sinovac, showed impressive efficacy in preventing the SAR-CoV-2 variant discovered in Brazil as data indicates that deaths and hospitalizations caused by the virus in the town of Serrana, in the region of Ribeir?o Preto, decreased by 95 percent and 86 percent from February to April, after close to 60 percent of residents in the town were vaccinated.
The obvious protection rate in Serrana proves that the Sinovac’s vaccine is effective against the mutant P1 strain that spread in Brazil. However, its effectiveness against the strain that was discovered in India – currently circulating in Guangzhou’s latest outbreak – is still being studied, Sinovac’s spokesperson told the Global Times.
Indonesia tracked 128,290 health workers in capital city Jakarta from January to March and found that the Sinovac vaccine protected 98 percent of them from death and 96 percent from hospitalization as soon as seven days after the second dose, Pandji Dhewantara, a Health Ministry official who oversaw the study, was quoted as saying by Bloomberg in a press conference on May 12.
Final results of Phase III clinical trials conducted in Turkey revealed in March also showed that Sinovac’s vaccine can prevent 83.5 percent of symptomatic cases and 100 percent of hospitalization and severe illness.
According to the results of a study with 31,000 participants from more than 100 nationalities conducted in the UAE revealed on May 26, two COVID-19 vaccines developed by Sinopharm prevented symptomatic infections by 72.8 percent and 78.1 percent respectively.
Hungary, the only EU country that is using Chinese vaccines, said it plans to produce Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine in a local factory in a bid to help Hungary realize self-sufficiency in vaccine production from the end of 2022, Reuters reported.

On Memorial Day, Caitlin Johnstone says it’s important to block the propaganda that helps feed a steady supply of teenagers into the imperial war machine.
Vice President Kamala Harris spent the weekend under fire from Republicans, which of course means that Kamala Harris spent the weekend being criticized for the most silly, vapid reason you could possibly criticize Kamala Harris for.
Apparently the likely future president tweeted “Enjoy the long weekend,” a reference to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, instead of gushing about fallen troops and sacrifice.
That’s it, that’s the whole entire story. That silly, irrelevant offense by one of the sleaziest people in the single most corrupt and murderous government on earth is the whole entire basis for histrionic headlines from conservative media outlets like this:
Harris, the born politician, was quick to course correct.
“Throughout our history our service men and women have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country,” the veep tweeted. “As we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and their sacrifice.”
Which is of course complete bullshit. It has been generations since any member of the U.S. military could be said to have served or sacrificed defending America or its freedoms, and that has been the case throughout almost the entirety of its history. If you are reading this it is statistically unlikely that you are of an age where any U.S. military personnel died for any other reason than corporate profit and global domination, and if you are it’s almost certain you weren’t old enough to have had mature thoughts about it at the time.
Whenever you criticize the U.S. war machine online within earshot of anyone who’s sufficiently propagandized, you will invariably be lectured about the second World War and how we’d all be speaking German or Japanese without the brave men who died for our freedom. This makes my point for me: the fact that apologists for U.S. imperialism always need to reach all the way back through history to the cusp of living memory to find even one single example of the American military being used for purposes that weren’t evil proves that it most certainly is evil.
But this is one of the main reasons there are so very many movies and history documentaries made about World War II: it’s an opportunity to portray U.S. servicemen bravely fighting and dying for a noble cause without having to bend the truth beyond recognition. The other major reason is that focusing on the second World War allows members of the U.S. empire to escape into a time when the Big Bad Guy on the world stage was someone else.
From the end of World War II to the fall of the U.S.S.R., the U.S. military was used to smash the spread of communism and secure geostrategic interests toward the ultimate end of engineering the collapse of the Soviet Union. After this was accomplished in 1991, U.S. foreign policy officially shifted to preserving a unipolar world order by preventing the rise of any other superpower which could rival its might.
A 1992 article by The New York Times titled “U.S. Strategy Plan Calls For Insuring No Rivals Develop,“ reporting on a leaked document which describes a policy known as the Wolfowitz Doctrine after then-Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Paul Wolfowitz, reads as follows:
“In a broad new policy statement that is in its final drafting stage, the Defense Department asserts that America’s political and military mission in the post-cold-war era will be to insure that no rival superpower is allowed to emerge in Western Europe, Asia or the territory of the former Soviet Union.
A 46-page document that has been circulating at the highest levels of the Pentagon for weeks, and which Defense Secretary Dick Cheney expects to release later this month, states that part of the American mission will be ‘convincing potential competitors that they need not aspire to a greater role or pursue a more aggressive posture to protect their legitimate interests.’
The classified document makes the case for a world dominated by one superpower whose position can be perpetuated by constructive behavior and sufficient military might to deter any nation or group of nations from challenging American primacy.”
This is all U.S. troops have been fighting and dying for since the Berlin Wall came down. Not “freedom”, not “democracy” and certainly not the American people. Just continual uncontested domination of this planet at all cost: domination of its resources, its trade routes, its seas, its air, and its humans, no matter how many lives need to risked and snuffed out in order to achieve it. The U.S. has killed millions and displaced tens of millions just since the turn of this century in the reckless pursuit of that goal.
And, as Smedley Butler spelled out 86 years ago in his still-relevant book War is a Racket, U.S. military personnel have been dying for profit.
Nothing gets the gears of industry turning like war, and nothing better creates chaotic Wild West environments of shock and confusion during which more wealth and power can be grabbed. War profiteers pour immense resources into lobbying, think tanks and campaign donations to manipulate and bribe policy makers into making decisions which promote war and military expansionism, with astounding success. This is all entirely legal.
It’s important to spread awareness that this is all U.S. troops have been dying for, because the fairy tale that they fight for freedom and for their countrymen is a major propaganda narrative used in military recruitment. While poverty plays a significant role in driving up enlistments as predatory recruiters target poor and middle class youth promising them a future in the nation with the worst income inequality in the industrialized world, the fact that the aggressively propagandized glorification of military “service” makes it a more esteemed career path than working at a restaurant or a grocery store means people are more likely to enlist.
Without all that propaganda deceiving people into believing that military work is something virtuous, military service would be the most shameful job anyone could possibly have; other stigmatized jobs like sex work would be regarded as far more noble. You’d be less reluctant to tell your extended family over Christmas that you’re a janitor at a seedy massage parlor than that you’ve enlisted in the U.S. military, because instead of congratulating and praising you, your Uncle Murray would look at you and say, “So you’re gonna be killing kids for crude oil?”
And that’s exactly how it should be. Continuing to uphold the lie that U.S. troops fight and die for a good cause is helping to ensure a steady supply of teenagers to feed into the gears of the imperial war machine. Stop feeding into the lie that the war machine is worth killing and being killed for. Not out of disrespect for the dead, but out of reverence for the living.

Most foreign students came to US for graduate school. They have used up their parents resources to send them to University in China for undergraduate studies, the resources China provided to educate them, they came to US paying 4-8x tuition fee the Americans are paying to study, abandoned their parents, their country, just because of money and money alone, they don’t return home. Do you know how many grieving parents in China. Some said once I become US Citizens will bring them to US (maybe for babysitting only), have they asked if their parents wanted to come, gave up their friends and relatives to come to a stranger country that they don’t speak the language, died lonely and sad. I heard hundreds of these sad stories from my clients since 1980. Extremely selfish kids!
The 2 stories I shared, they gave up substantial higher incomes to return to China to help China like so many overseas Chinese before them.
I am expecting 1,000s of former Chinese students lives in US will be returning to China each year in the foreseeable future as US no longer welcome People of Color, especially Chinese. West’s genocide shows it cannot hold a moral high ground by Mu Lu May 31 2021

The Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation in Canada, a home community of the Kamloops Indian Residential School where the remains of 215 children buried at the site have been uncovered, confirmed on Thursday that some children were as young as three years old.
“This is a tragedy of unimaginable proportions. And it is a stark example of the violence the Canadian residential school system inflicted upon indigenous peoples and how the consequences of these atrocities continue to this day,” said British Columbia Premier John Horgan in a statement.
Almost at the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday admitted French responsibility for the 1994 genocide that killed around 800,000 people in Rwanda. On Friday, German Foreign Minister Heiko Mass recognized as genocide the crimes committed by German colonial troops at the beginning of the 20th century against the Herero and Nama people in what is now Namibia.
The bloody atrocities committed against indigenous peoples that were once buried in the dustbin of history have been uncovered one by one. They are the stains in the history of the West’s expansion and development. When the developing countries began rising, Western countries played the human rights card with the help of their dominance in public opinion, and refused to admit to their evil past – but the truth cannot be buried.
Worse, their efforts to veneer their evil have generated political correctness, with which they try to use their louder voice to disassociate themselves with the stains. And during such attempts they have failed to address the racial problems that make a large number of disadvantaged people in the West suffer.
Shen Yi, a professor at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University, told the Global Times on Monday that when the West tries to veneer its crimes, it is also trying to mislead the world into a rhetorical trap.”With their insane logic, they even believe that making people in China’s Xinjiang live a better life is committing ‘genocide,'” Shen noted.
Western politicians have ignored their own problems, but shifted attention with unfounded blame against other countries.They spread fake news and pin the label of genocide on others at will. When such politicians and media outlets are up to something bad, they should take time to carefully learn the history of their countries, and have a close and frank look at what is happening in their homeland.
In the West, genocide existed, and the aftermath still haunts them.When those Western countries really respect the bloody history of their ethnic minority people, and really admit to the racial unfairness in their society, they will know who to blame and who to apologize to.
