Chinese doctors have been using TCM (Chinese medicine) as standard treatment protocol for Covid, in addition to supportive western intervention [and also progressively more active interventions (cannular oxygen, NIV, intubation, ventilation, ECMO, lung transplant); anti-viral treatment (Lopinavir, chloroquine phosphate, interferon); glucocorticoids/corticosteroids (methylpredisolone); convalescent plasma therapy]. The west has ignored this use of TCM as unscientific, dismissing it as placebo, and compared it to Trump’s suggestion to drink bleach. This is unfortunate. Here are some studies: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.10.035824v1.full.pdf https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.13.038687v1 As you can see, the Chinese have been using Huang Qin (Chinese skullcap; Scutellaria radix; the root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi), a plant considered to have antiviral properties and used previously for Dengue Fever and H1N1
The Covid-19 virus (SARS-CoV-2) has a RBD (Receptor Binding domain) on the spike (glycoprotein) that allows it to attach to a human cell wall, binding to a specific receptor cell, ACE 2 in the epithelial membrane. This is how it attacks the cell: the RBD functions like a grappling hook, which then attaches the virus like a barnacle to the human cell. It then has to activate/fuse/enter the [human] cell. In order to do that, the spike protein needs to activate the cleavage site, which functions like a biological can opener. This cleavage site is Furin activated.
The TCM medicine used, Huang Qin, works as a Furin inhibitor, which prevents the virus from penetrating and activating inside the cell. Huang Qin contains baicalein. Bacalein (5,6,7-trihydroxyflavone) is a flavone, which has been documented as an antiviral, and may be the active ingredient inhibiting Furin. If this is so, Huang Qin may be an effective preventive treatment for Covid. There is no approved Furin inhibitor in the western pharmacopoeia.
This is still a hypothesis, but if correct, it indicates very subtle microbiological action in Chinese medicine. Chinese doctors have categorized the progression of Covid-19 into 5 stages. 3 of the 5 TCM diagnostic classifications/stages (early & middle; wet lungs, external heat/internal cold/intermittent cold-heat) prescribe Huang Xin/Baical Skullcap. (This is similar to the way Artemisinin was discovered and isolated from Traditional Chinese Medicine as an anti-Malarial treatment). There’s also a growing body of work which indicates that the virus disrupts through vascular endothelial dysfunction or heme metabolism not the disruption of surfactant via ACE2 lung entry. This can result in HAPE-like hypoxemia, so preventing this mechanism from activating can prevent the sudden and unexpected deaths that have been noted, especially in younger, healthier people. Note the Chinese emphasis on monitoring oxygen (pulse oximeters) and balancing blood (“two balances”), Vitamin C.
A very different kind of farewell speech by Cui Tiankai to overseas Chinese in appreciation of what they have done for the motherland, and at the same time asked them to take an active role to improve US-China relationship. Furthermore, Overseas Chinese must bare the responsibilities to ensure reunification of Taiwan Province with China, to defend national dignity to ensure China’s peaceful rise.

On June 22, the Chinese Embassy in the United States website reported that Cui Tiankai, the Chinese Ambassador to the United States, issued a farewell letter to overseas Chinese in the United States. The full text is as follows: 中国驻美国大使馆网站6月22日消息,中国驻美国大使崔天凯发表致全美侨胞的辞别信。全文如下:
Dear overseas Chinese:
Time flies, time flies. Since serving as China’s ambassador to the United States in April 2013, I have been working in the United States for more than eight years in a blink of an eye. I will leave my post and return to China in the near future. This was the longest term in my diplomatic career abroad. It allowed me to experience many historical events, met many warm and friendly friends, and left me with many unforgettable memories for life.
On the occasion of parting, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the majority of overseas Chinese in the United States for their care and support for my work! I clearly remember that shortly after I took office in April 2013, dozens of overseas Chinese associations held a grand welcome banquet for me, which was the first large-scale event I participated in after arriving in Washington. I clearly remember that during the holidays, I sat around for a long conversation with the leaders of overseas Chinese, listened to your in-depth observations of the United States, and made suggestions for the development of Sino-US relations. I clearly remember that every time a Chinese leader visited the United States, he was greeted by overseas Chinese wherever he went. The national flags of China and the United States were waving in the wind, and cheers were endless. I clearly remember that every time the ancestral (home) country was hit by disasters or distress, the overseas Chinese would not hesitate to turn back and give generously. I especially remember clearly that over the years, the overseas Chinese have lived abroad, have a passion for Sangzi, and have made unremitting efforts to promote mutually beneficial cooperation and people-to-people bonds between China and the United States, to promote the reunification of the motherland, and to defend national dignity.
In a few days, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Looking back at history, all the Chinese people are very excited for the great motherland’s historic achievements from standing up, getting rich, and getting stronger. Generations of overseas Chinese have always adhered to the patriotic tradition and have never been absent in every period of China’s revolution, construction, and reform. They have made important contributions to the independence and liberation of the Chinese nation and the prosperity and development of China. Looking to the future, China has embarked on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. This has provided a broader and better prospect for the development of the vast number of overseas Chinese. At the same time, it also requires the majority of overseas Chinese to exert their wisdom and contribute their strength to everyone’s Work hard to gather a majestic force and make a unique contribution to the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. I hope that the vast number of overseas Chinese in the United States will continue to have a childish heart, unite and work hard with the Chinese people at home and abroad, and jointly create a better future for the Chinese nation!
In the 42 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States, the relations between the two countries have achieved historic achievements, and the interests of the two countries have long been closely intertwined. The overseas Chinese in the United States have always been the non-governmental envoys of friendly exchanges between China and the United States with their advantages in integrating China and the West. China-US relations are currently at a critical crossroads. The US policy toward China is undergoing a new round of restructuring, and it faces a choice between dialogue and cooperation and confrontation of conflict. At this moment, the overseas Chinese in the United States shoulder more important responsibilities and missions. I hope that you will start from defending your rights to survive and develop in the United States, from safeguarding the fundamental interests of the people of China and the United States, and from promoting world peace, stability and prosperity. , Continue to be a firm promoter and active contributor to the healthy and stable development of Sino-US relations.
There is a confidant in the sea, and the end of the world is close to each other. I will always cherish the profound friendship I forged with all overseas Chinese during my mission to the United States. Finally, I sincerely wish everyone good health, family happiness and all the best.

Effective February 2022, any Hong Kong ID card holders age 60 and over can ride any public transportation at US$.26 or 26 cents per ride. This enhanced benefit was available only for age 65 and above before. In San Francisco for people age 65 and over, a ride from East Bay to San Francisco will cost $2.60 which is 10x of HK. We are comparing cost only. When you are also comparing safety and quality. We are talking about comparing HK’s 1st world verses US’s 3rd world infrastructure. That is why even American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong representing 1,400 US firms debunk US Government’s fake news propaganda against HK.

While US Secretary of State Antony Blinken flies around the world criticising other countries’ violations of human rights, his government has been busy persecuting journalists and whistle-blowers for exposing atrocities committed by the American military.
As his department questions the use of Hong Kong’s national security law to convict Leon Tong Ying-kit, 24, for incitement and terrorism, the US Justice Department has been scapegoating ethnic Chinese scientists and engineers, and Chinese students, for industrial espionage and intellectual property theft. The department’s “China Initiative” has more than a whiff of 1950s McCarthyism, except this time, it’s not just anti-communist but also racially driven.
Under the initiative, launched in 2018, FBI director Christopher Wray told Fox News last year that there were more than 2,000 active investigations.
Rory Truex, an assistant professor at Princeton University, has looked into the China Initiative. In an updated paper, “Addressing the China Challenge for American Universities”, he concludes: “After 20 months of ongoing investigations in 2019 and 2020, the ‘China Initiative’ – a Department of Justice (DOJ) effort – had brought formal charges at only 10 US universities or research institutions, and only three cases involved any evidence of espionage, theft, or transfer of intellectual property.
“Given that there are about 107,000 Chinese citizens in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at US universities at the graduate level or above, current DOJ charges imply a criminality rate in this population of 0.0000934, less than 1/10,000.”
Typically, after failing to charge those targeted with spying and IP theft, investigators save face by going after some with wire fraud and/or making false statements, as with the case of Hu Anming, a former University of Tennessee tenured engineering professor.
Another fellow whistle-blower who has the unlikely name of Reality Winner, was recently released from a five-year sentence for leaking a secret report about alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US election.
Given such records, as America’s top diplomat, you have to commend Blinken for always keeping a straight face.
Meanwhile, drone warfare whistle-blower Daniel Hale has been jailed for 45 months. His crimes? He leaked classified documents that exposed the US drone killings of more than 200 people, only 35 of them were the intended targets, between January 2012 and February 2013, in Afghanistan. In one five-month period, one document shows, nearly 90 per cent of the people killed were not the intended targets. However, the civilian dead were labelled as “enemies killed in action”.

Short Sweet and to the point – Prof Wolff explains how the U.S. political decision to ratchet up nationalist and anti-communist sentiments against China is dangerous for both country’s economies and more. Can we learn from historical examples about the dangers of initiating conflict and the benefits of keeping a positive trade relationship? https://vimeo.com/581785775 https://youtu.be/8tVHIdHmC-c https://www.facebook.com/100036400039778/posts/539594417263888/?d=n “It is my hope that we do not let petty political calculations of scapegoat artists like Mr. Trump, and like Mr. Biden sometimes threatens to become, undo a cooperative mechanism.” – Richard D Wolff
This is a clip from the lecture “The Challenge of China [July 2021].” In the full lecture, Prof Wolff discusses the following topics:
China’s Economic Growth since its Revolution (1949)
Richard David Wolff is an American Marxian economist, known for his work on economic methodology and class analysis. He is Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and currently a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program in International Affairs of the New School in New York.
The new work of “The Wolf Warriors” satirizes China on the source of the epidemic. China and the United States have recently confronted on multiple international occasions on the investigation of the source of the COVID19. The famous mainland illustrator Wuhe Qilin, known as the “Wolf Warrior Painter,” recently published a new work, accusing the United States of blaming China for the source of the epidemic.
Wuhe Qilin’s new work is titled “The Transformation of Gods” (see picture), and the painting is accompanied by English: “I grant you a new corona.” The protagonist of the painting is a giant with the head of the earth. He was tied to a laboratory chair, his arms were tied, and the tied gold straps had U.S. dollars, U.S. fighter jets, chips, and Twitter symbols. Netizens believe that the author pointed out that the earth has been constrained by the financial, military, technological, and public opinion hegemony of the United States
烏合麒麟新作名為《神明改造》(見圖),畫上則配有英文:「I grant you a new corona (我為你加冕新冠)。」
On the left side of the painting, a man wearing the crown of the American Statue of Liberty is holding a syringe, directing others to inject poison into the giants of the earth, implying that the United States has personally spread the new crown epidemic. At the feet of the giant were two officers with armbands from the Fort Detrick Biolab in the United States. The heads of the two were taken away and soaked in formalin. They were suspected to be Shiro Ishii, the commander of the 731 Forces in Japan. And Goebbels, Minister of Education of Nazi Germany. Goebbels famously said: “Repeat a lie a thousand times is the truth.” In the painting, he is handwriting the word “China” on the X-ray of the giant’s lungs, implying that the United States has blamed the source of the new crown on China.
Video: Meet Eileen Gu, a 17-year-old beauty born and raised in California gave up her US Citizenship for Chinese Citizenship who could be China’s next Olympic star.
As Asian, she recognized her future is with China and not the United States when People of Color especially Chinese treated as 2nd Class Citizens since US passing the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Acts.
Gu Ailing, or Eileen Gu, born to an American father and a Chinese mother, first made headlines in China when she became the first naturalized Chinese freestyler skier in 2019 but was already a sensation when she first competed in the US at the age of 9. SMG talks exclusively with her about her link to China, her dream as a skier and her sporting career.
In January 2021, Gu managed to win two gold medals and one bronze at the X-Games in Aspen, USA, making her the very first X-Games rookie to win medals in all the categories she competed in.
With the helmet off, however, Gu becomes the talkative, easy-going girl that she is, speaking perfect Chinese with a distinct Beijing accent. Born in LA, Gu first learnt Chinese not in the classroom, but playing with local Beijing kids, when she returned to her mother’s hometown at the age of two or three, as she recalls. It took her only two week to memorize all the tongue-twister involved in the games and soon she was mixing freely with local children.
Having grown up in the US, Gu has been China each summer since then. She says she’s particularly fond of shengjianbao (pan-fried steamed buns) and xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), two local specialties from the region around Shanghai. Born to American and Chinese parents, Gu says having an understanding of both cultures helps her learn new things and keep an open mind.
Gu’s love for skiing started when she first tried the sport at the age of three, when travelling to a skiing resort with her mother. By the age of 9, she took part in her first competition as a member of Lake Tahoe skiing team, which was based at the closest skiing spot to her home.
Since then, she’s been winning, at almost all levels: from all-US competitions, to Freestyle Ski World Cup and Winter Youth Olympics, and most recently, X-Games. Having obtained Chinese nationality in 2019, Gu now aims at representing China at Beijing 2022.
This is one of Gu’s two main dreams at the moment, the other being getting into Stanford, her mother’s alma mater, which she accomplished in late 2020. She says she was able to find a balance between her sporting career and studies by dividing her time and energy, and most importantly, always concentrating 100% at what she is doing at the moment.
Beijing 2022 is scheduled to be held from Feb 4th to 20th, 2022. Some ice and snow events will be played at the nearby city of Zhangjiakou. Beijing is set to be the first city to have hosted both Summer and Winter Olympic Games.
