Instead of keeping its allies’ safety, it is more worried about the inability to engage in large-scale wiretapping and surveillance activities on its partners, as Huawei does not have the back orifice as other brands.

US Troops Die for World Domination, Not Freedom

Vice President Kamala Harris spent the weekend under fire from Republicans, which of course means that Kamala Harris spent the weekend being criticized for the most silly, vapid reason you could possibly criticize Kamala Harris for.

Apparently the likely future president tweeted “Enjoy the long weekend,” a reference to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, instead of gushing about fallen troops and sacrifice.

That’s it, that’s the whole entire story. That silly, irrelevant offense by one of the sleaziest people in the single most corrupt and murderous government on earth is the whole entire basis for histrionic headlines from conservative media outlets like this:

Harris, the born politician, was quick to course correct.

“Throughout our history our service men and women have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country,” the veep tweeted. “As we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and their sacrifice.”

Which is of course complete bullshit. It has been generations since any member of the U.S. military could be said to have served or sacrificed defending America or its freedoms, and that has been the case throughout almost the entirety of its history. If you are reading this it is statistically unlikely that you are of an age where any U.S. military personnel died for any other reason than corporate profit and global domination, and if you are it’s almost certain you weren’t old enough to have had mature thoughts about it at the time.

Whenever you criticize the U.S. war machine online within earshot of anyone who’s sufficiently propagandized, you will invariably be lectured about the second World War and how we’d all be speaking German or Japanese without the brave men who died for our freedom. This makes my point for me: the fact that apologists for U.S. imperialism always need to reach all the way back through history to the cusp of living memory to find even one single example of the American military being used for purposes that weren’t evil proves that it most certainly is evil.

But this is one of the main reasons there are so very many movies and history documentaries made about World War II: it’s an opportunity to portray U.S. servicemen bravely fighting and dying for a noble cause without having to bend the truth beyond recognition. The other major reason is that focusing on the second World War allows members of the U.S. empire to escape into a time when the Big Bad Guy on the world stage was someone else.

From the end of World War II to the fall of the U.S.S.R., the U.S. military was used to smash the spread of communism and secure geostrategic interests toward the ultimate end of engineering the collapse of the Soviet Union. After this was accomplished in 1991, U.S. foreign policy officially shifted to preserving a unipolar world order by preventing the rise of any other superpower which could rival its might.

A 1992 article by The New York Times titled “U.S. Strategy Plan Calls For Insuring No Rivals Develop,“ reporting on a leaked document which describes a policy known as the Wolfowitz Doctrine after then-Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Paul Wolfowitz, reads as follows:

“In a broad new policy statement that is in its final drafting stage, the Defense Department asserts that America’s political and military mission in the post-cold-war era will be to insure that no rival superpower is allowed to emerge in Western Europe, Asia or the territory of the former Soviet Union.

A 46-page document that has been circulating at the highest levels of the Pentagon for weeks, and which Defense Secretary Dick Cheney expects to release later this month, states that part of the American mission will be ‘convincing potential competitors that they need not aspire to a greater role or pursue a more aggressive posture to protect their legitimate interests.’

The classified document makes the case for a world dominated by one superpower whose position can be perpetuated by constructive behavior and sufficient military might to deter any nation or group of nations from challenging American primacy.”

This is all U.S. troops have been fighting and dying for since the Berlin Wall came down. Not “freedom”, not “democracy” and certainly not the American people. Just continual uncontested domination of this planet at all cost: domination of its resources, its trade routes, its seas, its air, and its humans, no matter how many lives need to risked and snuffed out in order to achieve it. The U.S. has killed millions and displaced tens of millions just since the turn of this century in the reckless pursuit of that goal.

And, as Smedley Butler spelled out 86 years ago in his still-relevant book War is a Racket, U.S. military personnel have been dying for profit.

Nothing gets the gears of industry turning like war, and nothing better creates chaotic Wild West environments of shock and confusion during which more wealth and power can be grabbed. War profiteers pour immense resources into lobbying, think tanks and campaign donations to manipulate and bribe policy makers into making decisions which promote war and military expansionism, with astounding success. This is all entirely legal.

It’s important to spread awareness that this is all U.S. troops have been dying for, because the fairy tale that they fight for freedom and for their countrymen is a major propaganda narrative used in military recruitment. While poverty plays a significant role in driving up enlistments as predatory recruiters target poor and middle class youth promising them a future in the nation with the worst income inequality in the industrialized world, the fact that the aggressively propagandized glorification of military “service” makes it a more esteemed career path than working at a restaurant or a grocery store means people are more likely to enlist.

Without all that propaganda deceiving people into believing that military work is something virtuous, military service would be the most shameful job anyone could possibly have; other stigmatized jobs like sex work would be regarded as far more noble. You’d be less reluctant to tell your extended family over Christmas that you’re a janitor at a seedy massage parlor than that you’ve enlisted in the U.S. military, because instead of congratulating and praising you, your Uncle Murray would look at you and say, “So you’re gonna be killing kids for crude oil?”

And that’s exactly how it should be. Continuing to uphold the lie that U.S. troops fight and die for a good cause is helping to ensure a steady supply of teenagers to feed into the gears of the imperial war machine. Stop feeding into the lie that the war machine is worth killing and being killed for. Not out of disrespect for the dead, but out of reverence for the living.

Chinese students studying abroad like US refused to return to China to contribute to the motherland because US has a lot of money

Video: I was told frequently that Chinese students studying abroad like US refused to return to China to contribute to the motherland because US has a lot of money. Fortunately, not everyone who studies in US or abroad has the same ideas of loving money. Let us listen to their stories常聽人說,中國留學生不想回國為祖國作出貢獻是因為美國錢多.幸好不是每個留學有同樣愛錢的想法.讓我們聽他們的故事吧.

I think the essence of the 2 stories are no family members of the 2 need them to send home money.

Most foreign students came to US for graduate school. They have used up their parents resources to send them to University in China for undergraduate studies, the resources China provided to educate them, they came to US paying 4-8x tuition fee the Americans are paying to study, abandoned their parents, their country, just because of money and money alone, they don’t return home. Do you know how many grieving parents in China. Some said once I become US Citizens will bring them to US (maybe for babysitting only), have they asked if their parents wanted to come, gave up their friends and relatives to come to a stranger country that they don’t speak the language, died lonely and sad. I heard hundreds of these sad stories from my clients since 1980. Extremely selfish kids!

The 2 stories I shared, they gave up substantial higher incomes to return to China to help China like so many overseas Chinese before them.

I am expecting 1,000s of former Chinese students lives in US will be returning to China each year in the foreseeable future as US no longer welcome People of Color, especially Chinese. In fact it is no longer safe to live in US as 1,000s of hate crimes targeting Asians and Chinese each year. Don’t give Biden a free ride, he is as bad as Trump. Trump is 真小人, Biden is 偽君子. They both tried to out doing each other to promote hatred and fake news against Chinese and China. Chinese in America just like the women and children at the Middle East shall become collateral damage.

Take a look at how Freedom, Democracy, Freedom of Speech and Human Rights works in Taiwan Province. This video is banned from Taiwan for exposing COVID19 is out of control for lack of hospital beds, COVID19 testing facilities and vaccines. China repeatedly offered help, but Taiwan Provincial Governor Tsai Ing-Wen only wants vaccines by the Americans that US only committed small quantities in weeks, rest could takes months that people cannot wait. It is a classical example how politics override human lives in Taiwan just like Donald Trump did to the Americans in 2020. 不要懷疑,這裡不是印度!也不是武漢!這裡是台灣新莊署立醫院的其中一個角落的慘狀!(電視新聞全部不准播放)

West’s genocide shows it cannot hold a moral high ground

West’s genocide shows it cannot hold a moral high ground by Mu Lu May 31 2021

Members of the community of the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory, Quebec march through the town on May 30, 2021, to commemorate the news that a mass grave of 215 Indigenous children were found at the Kamloops Residential School in British Columbia, Canada.

The Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation in Canada, a home community of the Kamloops Indian Residential School where the remains of 215 children buried at the site have been uncovered, confirmed on Thursday that some children were as young as three years old.

“This is a tragedy of unimaginable proportions. And it is a stark example of the violence the Canadian residential school system inflicted upon indigenous peoples and how the consequences of these atrocities continue to this day,” said British Columbia Premier John Horgan in a statement.

Almost at the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday admitted French responsibility for the 1994 genocide that killed around 800,000 people in Rwanda. On Friday, German Foreign Minister Heiko Mass recognized as genocide the crimes committed by German colonial troops at the beginning of the 20th century against the Herero and Nama people in what is now Namibia.

The bloody atrocities committed against indigenous peoples that were once buried in the dustbin of history have been uncovered one by one. They are the stains in the history of the West’s expansion and development. When the developing countries began rising, Western countries played the human rights card with the help of their dominance in public opinion, and refused to admit to their evil past – but the truth cannot be buried.

Worse, their efforts to veneer their evil have generated political correctness, with which they try to use their louder voice to disassociate themselves with the stains. And during such attempts they have failed to address the racial problems that make a large number of disadvantaged people in the West suffer.

Shen Yi, a professor at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University, told the Global Times on Monday that when the West tries to veneer its crimes, it is also trying to mislead the world into a rhetorical trap.”With their insane logic, they even believe that making people in China’s Xinjiang live a better life is committing ‘genocide,'” Shen noted.

Western politicians have ignored their own problems, but shifted attention with unfounded blame against other countries. They spread fake news and pin the label of genocide on others at will. When such politicians and media outlets are up to something bad, they should take time to carefully learn the history of their countries, and have a close and frank look at what is happening in their homeland.

In the West, genocide existed, and the aftermath still haunts them. When those Western countries really respect the bloody history of their ethnic minority people, and really admit to the racial unfairness in their society, they will know who to blame and who to apologize to.

The tragedies of genocide in the Western world have constantly shown to the world that the West is completely unqualified to stand on the so-called moral high ground on this issue. Moreover, this once again confirms a pattern that many Chinese netizens have discovered, that is: All the unwarranted accusations made by the Western countries against China stem from their own evils.

Sooner or later, justice will prevail. Sooner or later, crimes will be settled by history.

Guangzhou tightens restrictions in response to mutant strains amid resurgence by Global Times

Guangzhou tightens restrictions in response to mutant strains amid resurgence by Global Times May 31 2021

A local resident gets a nucleic acid test at a local health service station in Guangzhou, South China’s Guangdong Province, on May 30.

Guangzhou, South China’s Guangdong Province, has beefed up community and travel restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus amid the latest COVID-19 resurgence. Local authorities have vowed to strengthen anti-epidemic measures to combat the more transmissible mutation, which was found to be from a strain detected in India.

The city reported 18 local COVID-19 confirmed cases on Monday, bringing the total to 23 since the outbreak started on May 21. It had also recorded seven asymptomatic patients as of the end of Sunday.

Guangzhou has stepped up nucleic acid testing, epidemiological investigation and the control of key personnel and areas, said Zhang Zhoubin, a deputy director of the Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention, at a press conference on Monday.

The mutant strain has seen rapid transmission, a short incubation period and a high viral load, with an average incubation period of two to four days, and a nucleic acid CT value of about 20, said Zhang.

Liwan district, the most affected area in Guangzhou, had sealed off five streets with 473 intersections as of Monday. People living in those streets are banned from going out and all public venues will be closed.

Besides, Guangzhou has assigned more than 300 teams of 13 branches for the epidemiological investigation.

The city will also suspend individual’s and other social groups’ appointments for COVID-19 vaccination from Monday to concentrate medical forces on further mass nucleic acid tests. As of 2 pm on Monday, a total of 3 million samples had been collected.

Feng Zijian, a deputy director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, pointed out the big challenges that mutant strains pose to China’s anti-epidemic work on Monday, noting that epidemic prevention and control measures should be strengthened in terms of their intensity, scope and duration.

The State Council, China’s cabinet, has dispatched a working group to Guangzhou to guide the local anti-epidemic work and “take the most rigorous measures” to cut off the transmission.

Li Ming, a deputy mayor of Guangzhou, said at the press conference that the transmission trajectory of the virus was basically delineated after rapid, intensive investigations.

Guangzhou imposed transportation restrictions to prevent the virus from spreading. Starting from 10 pm on Sunday, passengers leaving Guangzhou from airports, railway and highway stations were required to present negative nucleic acid test results within the previous 72 hours.

Due to the restrictions, most inbound and outbound flights at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the world’s busiest airport during the pandemic, were canceled on Monday.

As of 11:40 am, the airport had canceled 519 flights, accounting for 37.34 percent of the total. Among them, 300 were inbound, accounting for 40.7 percent of the total inbound flights, according to flight data services company Variflight.com.

Guangdong has been the province with the largest number of inbound visitors in China since the pandemic began, accounting for 90 percent of the country’s inbound international arrivals every day.

In particular, Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport handled 43.77 million passenger trips in 2020, becoming the busiest airport in the world for the year.

The US spying scandal in Europe should not be played down: Global Times

The US spying scandal in Europe should not be played down: Global Times editorial by Global Times May 31 2021

The US has used Denmark’s secret service to spy on leaders of many European countries including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, European media revealed on Sunday. Denmark is a close ally of the US. According to media reports, Denmark hosts several key landing stations for subsea internet cables to and from Sweden, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

In 2013, Edward Snowden, ex-contractor of the American National Security Agency, blew the whistle on the US’ PRISM surveillance program, which aroused strong dissatisfaction in European countries such as Germany. But the protests from the European side didn’t lead to a result. This time, the European media has exposed more details about the US’ spying on leaders of European countries, especially the role that Denmark had played in it. It contains a large amount of information and is really shocking.

There is no equality and mutual respect within the West. The US leadership on its allies is not conducted in accordance with rules, but is full of coercion and compulsion. It’s not easy to be a US ally. Not only is their sovereignty is infiltrated, but they are monitored by Washington at any time. This is the cold reality under the deceptive appearance of unity between the US and Europe.

Denmark’s betrayal of European countries to help the US spy is a reminder of the depth of US power in Europe. It is believed that Denmark is aware of the immorality of cooperating with US institutions, but they have deliberately feigned ignorance and have permitted such moves. This can portray the relations between small European countries and the US, their “big brother.”

The news makes the world further see the true face of the US. Washington’s true moral character is revealed to the world. The image of the so-called one of the largest democracies as the boss of a sinister gang has become more vivid.

When linking US’ groundless accusation that Huawei, a Chinese tech giant, has been selecting intelligence for China, This news from European media outlets has made people thoroughly understand US hypocrisy. We believe that the reason why the US has groundlessly accused China is because the US itself has been doing so, and the US is convinced that any force with some kind of dominance will conduct the same espionage. The US is trying hard to depict China in its own ugly image.

Many people worry that Europe may not protest against the US on the scale as large as the one in 2013. After making some reactive narratives, Europe would probably submit to humiliation. But we believe how Europe responds to the US’ exploitation of Denmark’s secret service to spy on leaders of European countries is not merely a matter for Europe itself.

The US’ evil practices have severely violated international laws. Those who are being spied on are not just European leaders, and more countries must have been included. The international community should not play down the scandal in the manner of allies between the US and Europe. Instead, the international community should step up their pressure on Washington and push the US and Europe to make public related information, giving the world an explanation.

The US has repeatedly claimed that it is under external cyberattacks and accuses China and Russia for this matter. When the US has been caught by European media outlets, it has an obligation to explain to maintain the moral legitimacy of a common international condemnation of cyberattacks.

The US is a superpower out of control. It has infringed on the interests of other countries, persisting on its own ways. Furthermore, it blatantly pursues double standards. The US has become the biggest source of destabilization in the world. It will certainly not be easy to restrict the destructive power of the US. Yet the international community should not discard relevant attempts and efforts. This is in the common interest of all countries.

Scientists prepare rebuttal letter to Science on virus lab leak theory: insider

Scientists prepare rebuttal letter to Science on virus lab leak theory: insider by Chen Qingqing May 31 2021

A soldier guards outside the Fort Detrick.

A number of preeminent epidemiologists and scientists in China and overseas said it’s absolute nonsense to let intelligence agencies lead COVID-19 origins-tracing work, and some scientists are working on a letter to Science magazine to rebut the “lab leak” theory, a source close to the matter informed the Global Times on Monday, after the UK intelligence unit, following Washington, said it believes it’s “feasible” that the pandemic began from a Chinese lab leak.

The latest political hyping of the question of the virus origins, led by the US government, recently aroused growing criticism among Chinese scientists. “It’s ridiculous to ask intelligence units to do the work that should be done by scientists,” Zeng Guang, former Chinese CDC head epidemiologist, told the Global Times.

After US President Joe Biden asked US intelligence agencies to redouble their efforts in investigating the origins of the COVID-19 last week, the UK reportedly said it believes “it’s feasible” that the virus leaked from a Chinese lab, according to media reports on Sunday. The lab leak theory has been a conspiracy theory constantly hyped by Western politicians and media outlets since the beginning of the epidemic in order to shift the blame to China for the West’s own failures in tackling the epidemic effectively.

Western intelligence speculated there was a remote chance that the virus had leaked from the lab where research was conducted into bat-derived coronaviruses, but there has since been a reassessment, and a lab leak is considered “feasible,” some reports said.

No evidence was mentioned when they brought up this new hypothesis, a source close to the WHO origins-tracing work told the Global Times on Monday when asked about the piece of information shared by UK intelligence. He added that these are the UK’s conservatives.

It has been quite a challenging moment for scientists around the world as the US-led West has been playing the “origins-tracing” card in pressuring China by mixing this scientific question with politics, adding more obstacles to global efforts in fighting the pandemic, according to experts and officials.

Some scientists are working on a rebuttal to the Science letter from 18 scientists, the source said.

On May 14, 18 researchers published a letter in the magazine arguing that the idea of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 leaking from a lab in China must be explored more deeply, calling for a “proper investigation,” according to the website of the magazine.

A joint WHO-China report on tracing the origins of COVID-19 dismissed the possibility of the virus being leaked from a lab, as the report said a lab leak was “extremely unlikely,” pointing to a possible path of transmission between animals and humans and transmission through frozen food.

The global investigation on the virus origins is the direction that Chinese scientists believe the next stage probe should be. However, a heated debate over the future direction of the WHO’s investigation into the origins appeared to head for a showdown in the closing days of the World Health Assembly, which is scheduled to end on Tuesday, according to global health news site Health Policy Watch.

Origins-tracing work concerning infectious diseases is very difficult, either to trace back the patient zero or the first infected animal. But what’s important is to verify different hypotheses to understand the route of the virus’ transmission and how to cut it off, Zeng told the Global Times.

“It’s much easier to find out whether it was a lab leak compared with tracing animal-human transmission, as there must have been evidence left through lab spillovers – for example, the infected staff members or the contaminated environment,” Zeng said.

WHO experts have already made the assessment on all the above-mentioned hypotheses during their visit to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, with no evidence found, “and I think that’s the end of the story,” he said.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin told a press conference on Monday that origins-tracing work should be led by scientists, rather than intelligence staff, and also needs joint efforts instead of divergences and can’t be dictated by certain countries.

“China has invited the WHO experts to conduct the work twice, and other countries are urged to do the same,” he said.

Chinese scientists and officials said it’s time for the US to welcome the WHO team, like what China has done, to thoroughly investigate its own biolabs and answer a series of questions concerning the early cases and infectious diseases dated to 2019 in the US.

While a letter from 209 House Republicans called for a congressional investigation into the origins of the COVID-19, claiming that there is “mounting evidence the pandemic started in a Chinese lab,” Zeng, the preeminent Chinese epidemiologist, said “it’s very ridiculous” to make such a proposal.

“Have they learned what’s been found last time from the lab during the WHO-China joint team study? Are there any new hypothesis? What do they want to learn this time?” Zeng asked, who further questioned whether the US president really understands science.

The Chinese government has been urging the US repeatedly to follow China’s lead to invite the WHO experts to the US, open Fort Detrick and biolabs overseas to the rest of the world, and disclose the detailed data and information on the unexplained outbreaks of respiratory disease in northern Virginia in July 2019 and the EVALI outbreak in Wisconsin.

“Why has the US not followed the lead? I believe that the US government has fears about the possible loopholes in its own labs that would probably lead the experts to find out more systematic problems with its labs,” Zeng said.

New York Times: “Admit nothing, deny everything, counter-accusations” — that’s how they are trained. When they accuse others of producing the virus in a lab, chances are it was indeed produced in lab but by themselves.

New York Times: WASHINGTON TALK: BRIEFING – WASHINGTON TALK: Tribute to C.I.A. June 12, 1987

Representative Stephen J. Solarz, a Brooklyn Democrat who is on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, tells this story about a recent fact-finding trip to Honduras: At a camp for the Nicaraguan insurgents, a United States intelligence agent introduced the Congressman to a contra officer. The officer was wearing a baseball cap with a pyramid design in front. On each side of the pyramid was a legend: ”Admit Nothing -Deny Everything – Make Counter-Accusations.” ”I asked him where he got the hat,” Mr. Solarz said, ”and he answered that it had been run off at the special effects shop in Langley,” the Virginia district where the Central Intelligence Agency is based.
