An Era Where Truth and Falsehood Intertwine Unrecognizably

An Era Where Truth and Falsehood Intertwine Unrecognizably –
Short Commentary by Johnson Choi, April 8, 2026, Hawaii

In this era where truth and falsehood are interwoven and hard to distinguish, discussing the current situation, economy, and financial issues requires a grasp of both the actual conditions and the historical context. However, an individual’s stance on national identity often leads to completely different judgments.

Over the past fifty years, I have observed a recurring phenomenon: those ethnic Chinese who do not identify themselves as Chinese often harbor strong antipathy toward those committed to telling the China story well, and even readily label them as “spreading false information.” Ironically, most of these people know nothing about Chinese history and are indifferent to China’s development over the past seventy years.
