I’ve been using it for twenty five years so I should know…
China offers without question the most efficient outpatient system on planet earth
Sick? Need tests?
Walk into the hospital and walk up to the kiosk or window
…to register for around two dollars
See a doctor usually within half an hour
Doctor orders blood test，ultrasound，CT scan.. whatever you might need…
COSTS
Ultrasound around $10
X ray around $5
CT scan around $40
Blood tests $10 for standard blood panels – $50 – $100 if you need more specific tests…
MRI – $150 sometimes by appt a few days later
Back to the kiosk to pay for the tests just ordered
Oh yea…there’s always nurses on duty at the kiosks if you need help
Go get your blood drawn
Go get your ultrasound – instant results
Go get your CT scan
Wait around one hour for the CT & basic blood test result report
Back to the kiosk to get your printed out test reports (X-ray films of the X-rays or CT scan or MRI are printed out at a separate printing kiosk)
Of course some blood tests require half a day or the next day for the results…you can retrieve those on your phone via the app after you’ve gone back home)
Take it all back to the doctor to discuss
Pay for whatever medicine the doctor prescribes…addnl tests later etc, if needed
Go to the pharmacy in the hospital building to pick up your medicine
Go home
That’s how it works for outpatient care in China
And that’s without health insurance…you just pay out of pocket for outpatient care in China
Health Insurance is for inpatient only
The average annual universal healthcare insurance premium is around $70
Your employer pays that or you pay it yourself if you are independent, a business owner.
It’s the same for me as a foreigner with a green card…I pay $70 for my annual health insurance for inpatient care
One time i spent five days inpatient in the cardio unit for complete heart check including an angiogram…Thankfully i got great news …virtually no blockages 🙂
Believe it or not, the entire inpatient bill was less than $1500…
And my health insurance covered 60% of that…

大約等一小時，就能拿到電腦斷層和基本血檢的報告
回到自助機列印你的書面檢查報告（X光、電腦斷層或核磁共振的影像膠片，要在另一個獨立的列印自助機輸出）
當然，有些血檢需要半天或隔天才能出結果⋯⋯你回家後可以透過手機App查閱
把所有報告拿回去給醫生討論
支付醫生開立的藥費⋯⋯若有需要，後續再做額外檢查等

而且這是在沒有醫療保險的情況下 —— 在中國看門診，你只需自費
醫療保險僅用於住院
全民健保的平均年保費約為70美元
這筆費用由雇主支付；如果你是自由職業者或企業主，則自己支付
我作為持有綠卡的外國人也一樣⋯⋯每年支付70美元的住院醫療保險
有一次我因完整心臟檢查（包括血管造影）在心臟科住了五天院。幸好結果非常好⋯⋯幾乎沒有任何阻塞 🙂
信不信由你，整筆住院費用不到1500美元⋯⋯
而我的醫療保險負擔了其中的60%
