Organized by the Chinese American Association of Commerce (CAAC), the event celebrated the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland by uniting Chinese from all walks of life in the Bay Area on July 1 in Chinatown’s Portsmouth Square. The five-star red flag was raised under a beautiful blue sky to the sound of the “March of the Volunteers” song.
Mr. Sun Zhixiong, President of the Chinese American Assn of Commerce (CAAC), Mr. Zhang Jianmin, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate, and Mr. Huang Zhonghua, Chief Director of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Assn , delivered speeches and participated in the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition with the young generation of Chunghua High School (Chinese-language school–aj). The San Francisco Bay Area Alliance for Peaceful Reunification Chairman Peter Chi, Vice Chairman Lui Chun Chak and other overseas Chinese leaders also attended the celebration of Hong Kong’s return to China organized by CAAC after a few years. The event was attended by about 300 community leaders and citizens. On stage, the Asia Senior Citizen Association and other groups performed chorus, music, folk music solos, tai chi dance, etc.
Consul General Zhang Jianmin said that for 25 years, with the full support of the motherland and the joint efforts of the HKSAR government and all sectors of the community, the unprecedented “One Country, Two Systems” initiative has been successfully implemented in Hong Kong, with the fundamental purpose of safeguarding the sovereignty, security and development interests of the country and maintaining the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macau. He pointed out that practice has proved that “one country, two systems” is in line with the fundamental interests of the country and the nation, and in line with the fundamental interests of Hong Kong and Macau.
Consul General Zhang said that the Bay Area has many compatriots from Hong Kong, over the years the Bay Area patriotic compatriots have been concerned about the prosperous development of Hong Kong and long-term peace and security, patriotic overseas Chinese groups, unified organizations firmly uphold the “one country, two systems”, support the unification of the motherland, support the Hong Kong national security law, support the Hong Kong SAR Government to stop violence and chaos; oppose anti-Chinese forces’ intervention in Hong Kong affairs, actively speak out for justice, for Hong Kong’s name. I hope that the majority of compatriots and overseas Chinese groups continue to uphold the spirit of patriotism and love for Hong Kong, continue to support the “one country, two systems” to move steadily forward, to enhance Sino-American exchanges and mutual understanding, for the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong inject positive energy. The development of Hong Kong is closely linked to the motherland. When Hong Kong is good, the motherland is good, and when the motherland is good, Hong Kong is better.
Mr. Sun Zhixiong, President of CAAC, said the purpose of the celebration is to strengthen the national pride of the Chinese community, especially the new generation of Chinese, and to work together to oppose Taiwan independence, achieve complete unification of China, and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. “Today’s flag-raisers include a 15-year-old Chinese high school student, Chen Zhenghong, who is a representative of the young people we have high hopes for. He said that the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation requires the joint efforts of generations of Chinese people, and the transmission of Chinese culture also requires the inheritance of the young generation of Chinese people.

The completion of the Zhuhai-Hong Kong-Macao Bridge and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, as well as the smooth start of the “One Belt, One Road” project, have given new impetus to Hong Kong’s development and provided new development opportunities.
慶祝香港回歸廿五周年 灣區華人金山集會升旗
由美國華商總會主辦，聯合灣區各界華人慶祝香港回歸祖國25週年活動，7月1日在三藩市華埠花園角舉行。在《義勇軍進行曲》歌聲中，五星紅旗在麗日藍天下徐徐升起。
美國華商總會會長孫志雄、中領館張建敏總領事、中華總會館總董黃中華致辭，並與中華中學小年輕一代參加升圖片展覽揭幕儀式。舊金山灣區中國統一促進會理事長池洪湖、副理事長雷振澤等僑領，也在相隔數年後再次出席由美國華商總會主辦的慶祝香港回歸活動。活動共有社區領袖及民眾約300人參加。舞台上亞洲耆英會等團體，表演了合唱、樂曲、民樂獨奏、太極舞等。
張建敏總領事表示，25年來在祖國全力支持下，在香港特別行政區政府和社會各界共同努力下，前無古人的「一國兩制」創舉在香港得到成功實踐，根本宗旨是維護國家主權、安全和發展利益，保持香港，澳門長期繁榮穩定。他指出，實踐證明，「一國兩制」符合國家、民族根本利益，符合香港、澳門根本利益，得到祖國人民和港澳居民的鼎力支持和一致擁護，得到國際社會的普遍贊同。
張總領事表示，灣區有不少僑胞來自香港，多年來灣區愛國僑胞一直關心掛念著香港的繁榮發展和長治久安，愛國僑團，統促組織堅定維護「一國兩制」，擁護祖國統一，支持香港國安法，支持香港特區政府止暴制亂，反對反華勢力插手香港事務，積極為正義發聲，為香港正名。希望廣大僑胞僑團繼續秉持愛國愛港精神，繼續支持「一國兩制」行穩致遠，增進中美交流和相互瞭解，為香港繁榮穩定注入正能量。香港的發展與祖國緊密相連。香港好，祖國好，祖國好，香港更好。
美國華商總會會長孫志雄表示，這次聯合灣區各界華人舉辦慶祝活動，目的是增強華人華僑，尤其是華裔新一代的民族自尊心和自豪感，共同為反對「台獨」，實現中國完全統一，實現中華民族偉大復興而努力奮鬥。「今天的升旗手中有一位15歲的中華中學校學生陳政鴻同學，是我們寄予厚望的年輕人的代表。」他說，實現中華民族的偉大復興，需要一代又一代的華人共同努力；中華文化的薪火相傳，也需要年青一代的華裔繼承。
中華總會館總董黃中華表示，25年前香港回到祖國的懷抱，洗刷了中華民族的百年恥辱，邁出了海內外華夏子孫為實現中華民族偉大復興中國夢的重要一步。
珠港澳大橋和廣深港高鐵的建成，「一帶一路」的順利開展，又為香港的發展注入了新的動力，更為香港提供了全新的發展機遇。
