Professor John Walsh MD in San Francisco: Right on cue, the news shifts. Now that the NYT Editorial Board, Henry the K, Anthony Blinken and Joe Biden have all waved the white flag in the US proxy war against Russia using Ukrainians as cannon fodder, the narrative of “victory” for the xUSx Ukraine has to be walked back.
(This is exactly how Joe Biden Feel on US Proxy War on Russia heading to defeats 這正是喬·拜登(Joe Biden)美國對俄羅斯的代理人戰爭的感受,即將被擊敗 by Johnson Choi)
Chicken ribs, eaten without meat, a pity to abandon. Continue to fight cannot win, retreat will be laugh on, no gain to stay, mind as well retreat early (like Afghanistan). So Biden told the US government mouthpiece medias to stop reporting Ukraine’s defeat, Russia’s victory, hoping Americans will forget this fiasco.
Professor John Walsh MD in San Francisco: The first step would be to ease the coverage of Ukraine out of the news. And sure enough, this evening on the PBS “News” Hour, there was not a single mention of the Proxy War!!! At times in the recent past half the “News” Hour was filled with the proxy war.
The coverage today in the NYT lacked the enormous photos spread out across page after page of suffering in Ukraine (on the Zelensky side) which has been standard fare since February, and the front page had only a tall tale of Putin’s responsibility for the world food shortage – a whopper that only the US mass media can hope to sustain AND which India, China, the African Union and in general most out are not buying.
And this at the very time that there is supposedly a major counteroffensive by the ill-fated Zelinsky forces in Severodonetsk. See BBC map below. The latest word is that this “counteroffensive” has failed miserably. Looking at the map, those poor Ukrainian troops on the Western outskirts (tiny blue area) of Severodonetsk might feel that they are surrounded – in fact being sacrificed cynically in an attempt to preserve a crumbling narrative of a victorious Zelensky, the new Churchill. I know nothing about military matters, but the map speaks volumes to me. I believe this might be called a pincer action or a cauldron – or a trap.
The new line is that the US will make no decisions for the Ukrainians as to how this will end. The myth, first articulated by Blinken and now Biden is that the US does not dictate terms to the puppet Zelinsky. More Pinocchio moments there.
