It must be hard to write articles and headlines for the N.Y. Times to create endless fake news to demonize China when everything at Beijing Olympics turned out so nicely. 當北京奧運會的一切都變得如此美好時,要為《紐約時報》寫文章和頭條來製造無休止的假新聞來妖魔化中國一定很難.

Professor Ling-chi Wang of UC Berkeley: As the Beijing Winter Olympics approached, all eyes in the MSM were on the weather of the Chinese capital. Beijing is notorious for its extreme heat in summer and cold in winter. It is supposed to have the worst weather throughout the year and virtually no blue sky because it routinely have smog, pollution, and toxic air. Photos of the city often time have people wearing face-musks. Remember all the dire warnings before the 2008 Summer Olympics?

Well, guess what happened thus far since last week. There is clear and clean air, blue sky, aided in part by the government’s efforts to reduce the pollution and smog by shutting down some factories in the metropolitan area. The city even delivered plenty of snow for the ski slopes, thanks fo the massive water delivering system built several years ago that brings water from China’s west to eastern cities, including Beijing. The result is the picture on the top of the front-page of the NY Times this morning and other color photos in the internet edition.

This is not supposed to happen. The challenge, as usual, is to produce articles that will turn good things into bad things. Going to Davos, Switzerland to get some negative comments? The result is what we read in the print edition below. Instead of praising the city for doing a good job for the Olympics and its athletes, it turns a genuine good-will effort into something negative and mean-spirited. Needless to say, there.we will be seeing plenty to stories that cast negative lights on the Beijing Olympics, city of Beijing, and the Chinese government. That is The NY Times mission!

Throughout the Winter Olympics, The NY Times will do its best to leave a bad taste in everyone’s mouth and a nightmare experience for the athletes because the paper hates China and it has nothing but bad wishes for China and its people. It editors and headlines writers are contortionists in journalism.
